How to get from Cancun Airport to Costa Mujeres

Costa Mujeres and Playa Mujeres are the resort area north of Cancun, facing Isla Mujeres, with wide beaches and all-inclusive hotels surrounded by mangroves. Unlike the Hotel Zone, there's no boulevard with frequent public transportation here, so it pays to plan how to get from Cancun Airport to Costa Mujeres before you land. • Playa Mujeres: the part closest to the city, with resorts, a golf course and a marina.
• Costa Mujeres: farther north, along the road to Punta Sam, with large resorts and wide beaches.
• Punta Sam and Isla Blanca: Punta Sam has a ferry terminal to Isla Mujeres; Isla Blanca, farther north, is a lightly developed strip of beach.

How long it takes depending on when you land

• Early morning and at night: crossing the city is faster and the ride is close to the minimum.
• At rush hour: Cancun traffic in the morning and late afternoon can add several minutes.
